Star Wars & Pirates

Ever wonder what the last supper would look like if Jesus and the apostles were replaced with star wars characters? Well dream no longer.

Here is an interesting blog whose recent posts include pirate protests and the bellow picture.

Here and here are some cool pictures.

Make Money With News Clips!

This is the latest in a series of posts on helping to monetize blogs. The News Room is a site that lets you imbed video and get a cut of the ad revenue from it. This is fairly easy to set up, and is entirely free. All you do is register then find a video and hit the ‘mash’ button. They give you the imbed code and you just stick it on your site. It is a good idea if you run a blog that gets a decent number of visitors and you regularly post news videos anyway. They give you a few bucks (up to $4) per thousand visitors, so this is not a realistic option for the smallest blogs. Of course they are better then many alternatives, that give you .15 CPM. They also pay you by check, instead of paypay, which is inconvenient. However, they are offering loyalty prizes and other contests that promise cars, electronics and other goodies.

You can see I have imbedded a video here. It only took like 15 minutes to set up, including registering for the site. There is a decent selection of news clips, many of them are from wire services like reuters. They have local, us, world, business, sports, tech and many more sections that I am sure will only grow over time. Unltimatly, there is little reason not to use this service. You might just make some money doing it.

PPP Direct!

Pay Per Post, a service I have written extensively about in the past, has come out with a new version. The biggest update is a new service they are calling PPP direct. Basically it allows advertisers to approach bloggers directly and haggle out a price (Pay Per Post takes a cut of it to the tune of 35%) instead of simply selecting an opportunity from the Pay Per Post website. They point out that ReviewMe or any competitors services you know that they charge between 50-100% markup on your post, so it is actually a good deal. They provide what is basically an escrow service, so that you can be sure that you will get paid if you do your job.

Using PPP direct offers bloggers several advantages, such as ease of use, the previously mentioned escrow service, tax reporting and some marketing Pay Per Post is doing specifically for bloggers who are using PPP direct. This service seems to be aimed at what Pay Per Post has called ‘quality bloggers’, that is blogs that have a significant following which are in a position to directly solicit advertisements. It is good that Pay Per Post is reaching out to these writers, but it should not forget the little guys with under 50 hits a day who get $5 a post. They are the ones Pay Per Post really helps by allowing them to make money blogging.

PayPerPost!

As you probably have noticed I have written several sponsored postings through a service called Pay Per Post. Before Pay Per Post most blogers, those who get under 50 hits a day (like me), had no way to get paid for their work. Google Ads don’t even cover hosting and domain name fees and would only give you a dollar or two a month. Pay Per Post allows small-time bloggers to make modest, but still significant amounts, of money. I have made $89 through Pay Per Post. They can pay more because Pay Per Post helps to generate word of mouth marketing and gives companies a boost in SEO, google ads do neither. This isn’t something that will pay your rent and feed your children, but it paid for modest mouse and postal service CDs. I also bought some jeans and some school books. I don’t spend very much time doing it either, if you dedicated yourself to blogging I am sure you could make much more. I have only had this blog for 6 months, and been using pay per post for only 2 months.

$1k Tuesday!

In case you haven’t noticed I have been paid for some of my blog posts here on Mark’s Moolah (see all posts tagged paid) through a service called Pay Per Post. They are running a promotion where every Tuesday (they won’t say what time) they will release an “opportunity” (PayPerPost speak for a paid blog post) that is worth $1,000. That’s right, a thousand dollars for only 200 words or so. To make it even better there are no restrictions on the blog that can take it. It doesn’t matter if you have a Google Pagerank of 0 and get very little blog traffic. if you can click fast enough you can make $1000. You do need to meet PayPerPost’s basic blog requirements however, such as being active for 90 days and not having big gaps between posts. Of course this contest has caused quite a bit of excitements among bloggers who are used to being paid $5-20 per post. I think that your chances of getting this $1k opportunity are probably not much higher then that of you hitting the lottery. That said I know I will be checking several times every Tuesday and I know there will be some people glued to their computers hitting refresh every 2 minutes. This is a very smart move on PayPerPost’s part, they will get many new bloggers to sign up because of this. $1k Tuesday is sponsored by Zookoda, a platform that allows bloggers to use email marketing to drive traffic to their blog.
